AGRICULTURAL CONTEXT
The dollar changes Brazil versus US price comparisons.
Brazilian farm prices often start in BRL per bag, arroba, liter, or metric ton. USD/BRL is used to normalize those local prices before comparing them with US cash values, futures contracts, export parity, and margin indicators.
Why it matters
A stronger dollar can lift BRL-denominated export parity and alter local crop and cattle incentives. A stronger real can compress converted Brazil prices and change competitiveness against US benchmarks.
SCENARIO SIMULATOR
Convert a Brazil price under different FX assumptions.
Use the official observation as the starting point, then test how a local BRL price changes when translated into US dollars.
METHODOLOGY
Official value and live chart are intentionally separated.
Daily change equals current BCB observation minus previous BCB observation. Daily percentage change equals current divided by previous minus one. The TradingView chart is for interactive market context and may use a different timing, provider, or delay methodology.
